Community involvement has been a consistent and meaningful part of our personal and professional life. We have dedicated many years to serving organizations that support individuals and families facing food insecurity, housing instability, financial hardship, and health challenges.
Through Catholic Charities of Central Colorado, we volunteered as a Supervisor at the Marian House Soup Kitchen, helping prepare and serve meals to underserved families and individuals experiencing homelessness in the Colorado Springs area. In addition, we have worked to spearhead a financial education initiative in partnership with Catholic Charities and local financial service providers, focused on empowering individuals re-entering the workforce, navigating financial crises, or rebuilding after economic hardship.
Our commitment to community leadership has also included serving on boards and in organizing roles across a range of social impact organizations. We served as a Board Member for REACH Pikes Peak, supporting social services in the region, and as an Organizer for 1 Million Cups, fostering connections and education within the local entrepreneurial community. We were honored to serve as Chairperson of the Board for Pikes Peak Urban Gardens, helping advance access to local food systems and community sustainability.
Additionally, we spent several years as a Volunteer Supervisor with Partners In Housing, supporting long-term efforts toward poverty alleviation and housing stability. Earlier in our career, we served as President of the Board of Directors for the Breast Health Collaborative of Texas, contributing to initiatives focused on education, access, and advocacy in women’s health.
Together, these experiences reflect a deep commitment to service, collaboration, and creating sustainable, community-driven solutions that improve lives and strengthen the communities we share.
